Last spring and summer were a time of upheaval from me. I decided that 15 Calgary winters had been quite enough for one lifetime and moved to Victoria, British Columbia ... where it rarely snows and rarely freezes.

That's not to say that nothing much happens weather-wise. There are terrific winter storms that blow in off the Pacific Ocean. We had one of them today and this afternoon the dog and I braved the very high winds to take some photos of the big surf right here in town.

This is a photo of waves crashing against the breakwater along Dallas Road near Clover Point.

I moved from Calgary to Victoria, British Columbia this past summer and this photoblog sort of fell by the wayside. It's my first snowless winter and I'm enjoying even more than I expected to. There was a little snow at the beginning of December and so far that's been it.
